GECLPSPH, GECLPS3, GECLPS5 Replacement Options

When GE discontinued the GECLPS3 and GECLPS5 power supplies, a temporary work around was offered whereas a GECLPSPH power supply could be used as an alternative. In order to use the replacement, resistance needed to be added to account for the higher voltage. They accomplished this by adding a specific amount of coiled up wire to cause a voltage drop to what the LEDs required. GE has now also discontinued the GECLPSPH. The information below details what is required based on your existing configuration.

Please Note

Part numbers shown in graphic diagrams for power supplies may be different as power supply products are discontinued and replaced with newer models.

Replacing a GECLPS3

If you are replacing a GECLPS3 power supply, you will need the new GECLPS3-2 control module and a GEPS24-100U-GLX power supply. This is the same that is required if a GECLPSPH with extra wire was used as a replacement for the GECLPS3. Warm colored LEDs originally used the GECLPS3.

Replacing a GECLPS5

If you are replacing a GECLPS5 power supply, you will now need (2) GECLPS5-2 control modules and (2) GEPS24-100U-GLX power supplies. This is the same that is required if a GECLPSPH with extra wire was used as a replacement for the GECLPS5. Cool colored LEDs and the Power White LEDs originally used the GECLPS5.

Replacing a GECLPSPH

If you are replacing a GECLPSPH that was NOT used as a replacement for the PS3 or PS5 power supplies, you will now need (2) GECLPSPH-2 control modules and (2) GEPS24-100U-GLX power supplies. The GECLPSPH power supply was used for specific generations of the Power White LED modules. If a GECLPSPH was used as a replacement for a GECLPSPH3 or GECLPS5 power supplies, see the documentation above.
