    NEON TRANSFORMERS

Posted by DAMN YANKEE WORKSHOP on Feb 21st 2018

Although I have retired and used these transformers years ago, they were a perfect fit for the job. I had several letters out on one of my customer restaurants (Outbacks) and this was one of the few transformers that would work for me. Has been installed for quite a while and no issues.

    Wasted money

Posted by Eric Kraft on Dec 18th 2016

Ordered a 0-6000v solid state Ventex transformer to replace the 4,800 v "old style" transformer on my Corona sign. When it failed to light up the entire sign, I called customer service. They very nicely explained that I actually needed a 0-9000v solid state transformer to replace the 4800 v one. I wish there was some mention on the website that you needed to almost DOUBLE your voltage going to solid state. I am still not sure why, but I now have a useless, brand-new $100 transformer on my hands. Since I had cut the wires and installed the unit, I am stuck with it. I asked for maybe a slight discount on the new unit. No chance. Lousy customer service, in my opinion. The net time I need sign supplies, I will go elsewhere.
